 The Baltimore Philatelic Society, once again, hosts BALPEX. The dates are August 29th, 30th and 31st, 2008. Location: Mariott's Hunt Valley Inn.
Founded in 1889, the Baltimore Philatelic Society has long played an important role in the hobby of stamp collecting. Many of its past and present members have made significant contributions to the hobby of stamp collecting, filling leadership roles in national and international organizations, conducting
philatelic research and writing about stamps and postal history. Currently, a complete history of the Baltimore Philatelic Society has beien written by Philatelic Historian Herbert A. Trenchard. Several years’ ago various parts of the history was printed in the BALPEX program. Once completed, the entire history will be printed and made available to the philatelic community. Two years ago, the Board of Governors decided to name the building The Horace W. Harrison Philatelic Center to honor Mr. Harrison for all of his contributions to the Society.
